Hi,
I have to choose between these three models for my first digital piano :

- Yamaha YDP-140 Arius.
- Yamaha YDP-S30 (C).
- Kawai CL25 (or CL30).

What i'm looking for, is mainly a great piano sound and a good touch (i can't go higher with my budget).

Any advice ?

Well, if you are willing to wait a little while, I believe the KAWAI CL35 should be available in Europe towards the end of October. This is an updated version of the CL30 with an improved piano sound and keyboard action.

Unfortunately, i can't wait. And, what about Yamaha pianos ? I heard that they have the best realistic piano sound. What do you think ?

Yamaha make very good digital pianos also, as do Roland and more recently Casio.

I do not have any direct experience of the YDP Yamaha instruments, however I expect their piano tones are reasonably good.

Indeed, given the level of today's technology, I do not believe it is possible to purchase a 'bad' digital piano. I am certain that regardless of which manufacturer and model you eventually chose, you will enjoy many hours of great music, and this is undoubtedly the most important thing.

between YDP-S30 and YDP140, i would choose 140 because it's newer and better functionally than S30. S30 is cheaper however for that reason.

i was in the same sort of situation as you not long ago and went for the kawai. the yamaha in the simlar proce range (sotrry i cant remember which model) didnt sound as good to me, (i only use thegrand sound, although it has 4 more piano sounds)and the touch on the cl30 is fine.

I just got a ydp-140 weeks ago and I am very happy with it. Don't pick the S30 cause the sound is just not right. Not sure about the Kawai model but I think you should go to the nearest music store and try out by yourself.
